Can you help us improve? Resolved my issue. Clear instructions. Easy to follow. No jargon. Pictures helped. Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures. In this connection it is immaterial whether monitor 2 is connected before Windows starts up, or I connect it after startup. I have some programs that require monitor 1 as my primary monitor, so I can not use the solution to change the primary display under settings.

I once got the solution to the problem so that Windows did not take over and decided which should be primary and secondary, but I have.

After you connect an additional monitor, you can use theNew Display Detected dialog box to indicate how you want the desktop to appear on the monitor's display. A mirrored desktop—the default display option—is useful if you plan to use your mobile PC to give a presentation on a projector or a fixed display in a conference room, such as a wall-mounted plasma display or TV-type monitor. To change the primary monitor to secondary and secondary to primary, you may follow the steps below and check if you can change it.

I have an annoying problem on my desktop PC where Windows 7 tease me. As soon as Windows detects the second monitor, it change to be primary rather than secondary. I once got the solution to the problem so that Windows did not take over and decided which should be primary and secondary, but I have unfortunately lost this memo.

Is there a kind soul who has become familiar with same problem who can give me the solution? Thank you in advance. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
