Gravity Bomb does not kill, so if that player starts at full health, no healing is required. Light Bomb can kill, for that reason one healer should be assigned to put a HoT or two on the current Light Bomb victim.
Even with fast player reaction, Light Bomb inevitably deals some AoE damage to the raid. The raid healer s need to be quick to AoE heal this. Once per minute, the boss casts Tympanic Tantrum.
This means that AoE healing must be well organized so that nobody dies from this damage, and that the raid should be on top health prior to Tantrum. The standard avoidance methods do work, but reduce DPS which may prove fatal. Hunter Deterrence is ineffective but Rogue Feint does reduce Tantrum damage.
During this time, the boss itself cannot be targeted, but it exposes its heart and takes double damage, and adds are summoned. Three types of adds spawn from the scrap heaps in the four corners of the room:.
The Scrapbots need to be AoE'd down and must not reach the boss. They are susceptible to most snares stun, frost nova, knockback, etc. The Boombots should be single targeted and nuked by ranged. It is best if they explode when surrounded by scrapbots or near the Heart. The Pummelers should simply be off-tanked and kited during the whole fight around the room. No damage dealer should ever target a Pummeler. The groups can appear simultaneously and at varying times.
Have people keep an eye out and call out where and when they are coming. Boombots need to be DPS'ed when they are near the Heart or scrapbots or when not close to players. When the heart goes back up into the boss and XT becomes targettable again, the remaining active adds stay alive. The Heart has 7M hitpoints in Heroic mode 1. Since the heart takes double damage, and all damage it takes is passed through to the boss, every damage dealer should try to concentrate on the Heart as much as possible.
Melee should stay on the heart exclusively during the whole phase. Even healers can deal some damage in this phase, Mana permitting else healers can use this phase to regenerate a little. Commentaire de glycereth 10man Hard Mode feels abit like Thaddius, moving left or right depending on what debuff you have, and having OT to pick up the adds after the debuff wears off.
Speaking of his sounds, funny story: I had my sound maxed up to hear my buddies better on Vent but ingame sound off.
I turned it on just in time to get my eardrum ruptured by his repetitive NO. Commentaire de Haha, sounds like Mickey Mouse with his balls tightened. Free chopperz? Commentaire de As everyone else is saying, if you tank him on the left or right wall the two scrap yards in the corners closest to the boss do not spawn anything.
It's confirmed in 10 man, we only had two people taking adds the whole time. Time for hard mode! Commentaire de torrok This boss is easy, even in hard mode, i would suggest if you want hard mode bring only 2 healers. Commentaire de The hard mode can be activated at any of the times when the heart is exposed right? Commentaire de Haven't ever even been to Northrend, my highest is currently A 4-year-old voice coming form this nasty machine is just too funny. Worse than my little sister.
I swear to God. Best to activate hard mode during first heart exposure. Commentaire de caridor "I guess it doesn't bend that way. Unintended innuendo FTW. Commentaire de Omg funniest voice ever! Watched my friends raid group fail cuz they all laughed so hard at him. Commentaire de Finally remembered who this sounded like from The Simpsons Martin , the nerd that always gets beat up by Nelson.
Commentaire de Scarrio Some effects put on the heart during one heart phase can carry over to the next heart phase if you burn him down enough to have the heart pop again before the debuff's duration runs out. For example, refresh a sunder armor on the heart just before it goes back in and if the heart pops again within 30 seconds the sunder stack will still be there. Some effect stay and some don't, although I don't have a list of which do and don't.
But Sunder Armor definitely does. This makes burning him down quite a bit faster. Really useful if you're going for the speed kill. Commentaire de Wow his hardmode doesnt seem.. That aesir's edge is MINE Commentaire de triggz With regards to when his heart drops, does it have a 'back' side? DPS always runs around to face him, but the heart can be hit from a mile away where you stand the entire time. Really annoying. Kologarns arm does the same crap.
Commentaire de im not good at math im guessing, can some one help me do this calculation, it says for hardmode u have to down the heart in 30 seconds, the heart has 7. How much dps is that, is it counted time over damage or damage over time. Commentaire de I have a question about the normal man version.
We are having problems in this fight because XT spawns Pummellers during the heart phase sometimes even more , and about waves of scrapbots as well. In all the videos I've found I just see about 2 Pummellers and not so many scrapbots waves, so we don't understand what's happenning. We also tried to tank him in the left side not in the stairs but the problem gets worse, with the adds spawning before the heart phase from the start of the fight and again in high numbers.
Anyone had this problem and found any solution? Commentaire de triggz Also to rogues: His bombs are removed by cloak. Use sprint to run over to a far corner, cloak to drop off the void zone in an out of the way area and sprint back to safety. Your healers won't even have to look at you! Commentaire de Danjen Clearly, his ball bearings have not dropped yet.
Commentaire de Kathucka XT heals to full when its heart is destroyed. Commentaire de Xiffrudo Any chance that the 2 achievements with "Nerf" in their names plus the boss having a child voice with a lot of crying is a reference to all those QQers begging Blizzard to nerf things?
Commentaire de surprised no one has posted this yet but if you have a blood DK you can put on him during his tantrum and it will actually heal the raid a good bit Commentaire de Max Anyone know what engineering skill you need to be to salvage this guy?
Commentaire de Artea As of 3. This makes completing the hard mode a little harder in that you need to kill more trash. The animation for gravity and light bomb debuffs has been changed, is it VERY obvious who has the debuff.
Quite an intense glow now. Commentaire de Heavily buffed for 3. Now spawns a TON more adds. Recommend killing boombots as much as possible, but it still gets pretty hectic. Also, the old trick of tanking him on one side of the room to eliminate the adds from those piles does NOT work.
Probably want to tank him in the middle of the room. Commentaire de Masterbiker Its really easy to get the " Nerf Scrapbots " achievement now, not so easy to get the boss down. Get this achievement easy now, before Blizz patch it if it is a bug.
Commentaire de yzerman It is amazing how fast your raid realizes they screwed up by tanking him on a wall once the heart drops now, but I would like to expand on what was said above: The adds now spawn in greater numbers. At one point I believe I saw at least 50 scrapbots, 10 bomb bots, and 6 pumellers in one heart phase 25 man. Using the bomb bots to destroy as many of the adds as possible is now almost a must. I also noticed some new raid damage being done as I was melee dpsing behind XT during the first portion of the fight.
Seemed to me that he inflicted a shockwave blast to those within about 30 yards of his left hand. If you plan on tanking him in the middle on the stairs, it is possible to get a tank into position on top of the stairs before actually pulling. To do so, mount up and when he gets to the left or right wall, go to the opposite side and ride up the stairs.
Keep in mind though that if you normally have a hunter pulling XT with misdirect, there is a very good chance that it will fail because the tank is out of line of sight or is out of range. In this case we found it easier to just have the tank taunt the boss when he got back to the center. In 25 man we had 2 healers join the tank at the top of the stairs.
There is plenty of room to spread out 20 yards at the top of those stairs and still be within range of the MT. Although this is probably not the best position for the healers if you plan on doing hard mode due to the spawn of void zones and life sparks. Commentaire de Confirmed that the increase in adds is a bug, and that it has been fixed. Commentaire de freedfromthereal Last night we did the 10 man hard mode, and in all honesty the massive waves of scrapbots and boombots were really not an issue if you hit them properly.
At first the waves look daunting but all it takes are one or two well placed explosions to take them all out :. Also, another thing: If you're doing the hard mode don't worry if you don't get ALL of the scrapbots at the beginning; XT's at full health so there's no need to fret if you see the "XT eats a scrapbot! Hardmode, once the initial wave of adds is down do not slow the bombbots - Want them in the midst of the little doods it's a fairly simple fight.
Commentaire de We tried again last night on 10 man. While putting XT in between the two piles did not work, putting him directly on one pile did stop adds from that specific pile. Commentaire de mojojojo Patch 3. Found it a bit helpful, nice to know that they are affected by it. Commentaire de Kciroj I'm ready to play! Commentaire de SenthaiOverlord Something's bugging me I promise I won't break them this time! Commentaire de Supahtoons For those that wish to share the experience of this encounter to others.
Commentaire de Sunderhorse This dude reminds me of a Megaman boss - with the crazy technology and the very high pitched voice. I'm almost positive of this as he gets stronger if you rip his heart out as Vegeta did to Super Buu. Commentaire de My first thought was Ralph Wiggum. Commentaire de Hmmm I think he sounds like a 3-year old robot with a cold Commentaire de OK, so a couple questions here.
My guild did this fight for the 3rd time last night and the encounter was much more difficult from our first 3 times in there.
We had a ton more adds spawning than our previous times through and adds were still spawning from the piles around the room after the boss re-entered phase 1. Is this supposed to be happening? I noticed someone mentioning tanking the boss on top of one of the piles and he wouldn't spawn adds from that pile. Is that accurate? Commentaire de Elorivan He has 7. If you have 6 DPS with you, you probably need to restructure your raid, unless they can each manage roughly 20, DPS it's 40, DPS per person, but the heart takes double damage.
Commentaire de XT's Voice Actor, Kevin Delaney, had finally discovered the wonders of the WoW forums, and released a video where he discusses his role , for all of you out there who've been wondering who is the man behind the man-child. You'd be surprised, but Delaney also voiced: Varos Cloudstrider , Skarvald the Constructor , and presumably, Slad'ran. They were talking, XT was talking. It was awesome. Commentaire de Requires Engineering to chop him into pieces?
Sweet action Healing everyone back to full after ever tantrum is very taxing on healers' mana and it's very difficult to keep up long enough to bring him down. Commentaire de dontblink As of Cataclysm it is possible to two man XT normal mode on 10 player. Me and a guildy just completed the encounter as a Resto Shaman and a Fury Warrior. Took us like 5 tries but we finally succeeded! We just did the fight normally until the first heart which we used everything on.
Moments later he went down! Commentaire de Soloed as a 85 Blood DK.. Commentaire de seitori Pretty tough solo for a Blood DK as of 4.
I'm at ilvl in an expertise and hit set capped against level 82s, and I just barely managed to squeak in a kill at 9 minutes, 50 seconds. Here's a few tips of my own. For those unfamiliar with Ulduar, don't forget the trash packs to either side just as you come into the room.
With such a tight enrage timer for the soloer, putting a good chunk of damage into the heart and destroying the scrapbots is essential. Note that destroying the bomb will one-shot scrapbots nearby. Then why not make a locked post-it that references them all, since none of your Strategist posts are stickies? A bit like what Gryphon does with his Helpful Threads. Dancing Deconstructor.
Back to Randomness? Have your left-side-melee-DPS run to a designated spot to the left and drop their zones there, your right-side melee - somewhere on the right side, and your casters - somewhere far away from the boss, behind the group, towards the center of the room. This should leave your Searing Light victims enough room to run around and have their sparks taunted. All this will do is put void zones all over the bloody place. Have a designated side for light bombs, and a designated side for gravity bombs.
For instance, my guild, Invicto, places void zones on the left, and we overlap them as much as possible to conserve space, whereas we move to the right if someone has a light bomb, with a paladin tank dropping aoe and the afflicted person standing in it I used to do this as a Deathknight before we decided that a Blood spec tank would better serve as the MT. Light bombs spawn so often in hard mode, especially in 25 man, that having the afflicted player just go wherever because you've been putting void zones wherever means the offtank is wasting a TON of time running around trying to pick them up.
Time that they're damaging the raid. Your healers should be strong enough to be able to heal a single stacked up group of ranged and a single group of melee anyway, or you won't down this boss. If you want to complete the boss on normal mode, be careful not to kill the heart when it drops down. While it does pass all damage taken on to the boss, killing it completely will initiate Hard Mode. Here is a video of me soloing XT. I actually spent quite a while trying to kill him on Hard Mode but with Recuperate and Leeching Poison as my only heals, I was unable to recover from the Tympanic Tantrums.
Heartbreaker is the XT Deconstructor achievement required for the proto-drake. There will be no more exposed heart phases or new mobs spawned once the heart is killed.
The Life Sparks can be killed if they are causing too much damage. Heartbreaker is soloable by many classes at level 90, as long as you have some major heals you should be good. Getting through the Tympanic Tantrums is the only difficulty. Here is a full list of other achievements that can be earned from XT Deconstructor. I link the man achievements but the exact same ones are available on man also. Nerf Engineering can be earned by killing all XS Scrapbots before they reach the boss.
They spawn from the junk piles in the corners of the room and they die pretty quickly. One or two dps focused on killing the extra mobs should be able to earn this achievement for the group.
This achievement has no contradiction with any other achievement but may be difficult to complete with Nerf Scrapbots. Nerf Scrapbots can be earned by destroying 20 XS Scrapbots in 12 seconds specifically through the explosion of the XE Boombots. This is a pretty difficult achievement to get for a couple of reasons and you will want to do the boss on Normal Mode to maximize your chances to earn it.
