Lecture 3 hours. Course material proceeds from introductory theory and practice of emergency medical care through increasingly complex concepts and management of immediate life-threatening situations and emergencies.

Perform one and two rescuer adult CPR. Manage a conscious and unconscious adult airway obstruction. Perform one rescuer and two rescuer infant and pediatric CPR. Manage a conscious and unconscious infant and pediatric airway obstruction.

Deliver effective oxygenation and ventilation using a bag-valve-mask device. Reading score of or higher on the Accuplacer reading test OR c. Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution. The prerequisites for the EMT course listed on the program page must be completed prior to enrolling.

The EMS Academy is focused on those interested in the fire academy, so the curriculum is geared towards fire. A Paramedic program is a month program that builds upon the knowledge obtained in the EMT curriculum with an emphasis on patient assessment, fluid resuscitation, cardiac monitoring and specialized medication administration and life-saving techniques.

With an advanced lab space, simulators and mannequins, students learn in a case-based environment that prepares them for actual patient care by emulating real-world settings.

Most of our faculty still work in pre-hospital settings and all actively maintain certification and licensure. The Certificate of Completion CCL in Paramedicine program teaches advanced techniques of emergency care, stabilization, and immobilization of victims of illness and injury.
